The following procedures to enable or disable, delete or block cookies on the main browsers
Google Chrome
Enabling or disabling cookies
1. Click on the icon in the Chrome menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. At the bottom of the page, click Show Advanced Settings.
4. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings.
5. Enable or disable cookies:
6. To enable cookies, select Allow saving data locally (recommended).
7. To turn off cookies, select Block sites from setting any data.
8. Click Done to save.
If you prefer that Google Chrome is not stored a record of your visits and your download, you can surf the websites in incognito mode.
Opening of an incognito mode window
A window incognito looks different from a normal window. The top of a window incognito is gray or blue, depending on your computer or device.
Exiting from incognito mode
To exit incognito, you can:
- Click the X icon in the window.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Alt + F4 (Windows and Linux) or -Shift-W (Mac).
- Close the last tab in a window; the window is closed automatically.
How does it works?
- The browsing history is not recorded. Web pages viewed and files downloaded while browsing incognito are not recorded in your browsing and downloads.
- The cookies are deleted. All new cookies are deleted after you close all incognito windows.
- You can easily switch between browsing in incognito and normal. You can simultaneously open windows incognito and normal windows and switch between modes.
- The extensions are disabled. Windows incognito extensions are automatically disabled. This is because Google Chrome does not control how to handle your personal data from the extensions. If you want an extension to be displayed in the windows of incognito, select the check box "Allow in incognito" on the extension.
Data that are stored
Chrome stores updates bookmarks and general settings.
Chrome saves any changes to the list, or General Settings mode incognito.
Web sites may keep a record of your visit.
The incognito is intended only to prevent Google Chrome from storing information about the websites you've visited. On websites you visit may be stored record of your visit. In addition, all files stored on your computer or on your mobile device are stored.
Internet Explorer
To delete cookies, follow these steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer, click the Start button. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the General tab and then click Delete Browsing History.
4. Select the Cookies check box and then click Delete if it is not already selected. Select or clear the check boxes for the other options that you want to delete. To keep cookies for your saved favourites, select the check box Preserve Favourites website data.
Opera
Preferences for cookies
Preferences> Advanced> Cookies. These settings allow you to configure the handling of cookies in Opera. The default is to accept all cookies.
Accept cookies All cookies are accepted

The third-party cookies, sent from a domain other than the one you are visiting, are rejected.
Never accept cookies
All cookies are refused
Delete new cookies when exiting Opera
Some Web sites require cookies to function properly. In this case, if you want to prevent cookies sent are stored between sessions and the other navigation, activate the "Delete new cookies when exiting Opera".
Ask me before accepting cookies
To decide what to do from time to time received cookies, select "Ask me before accepting cookies". In doing so, each new cookie, you'll see the dialog box cookie containing information about the origin of the cookie and its attributes.
Manage Cookies

The dialog box of cookies
The dialog box of cookies is displayed whenever a Web site has a cookie, but only if you enabled the option "Prompt before accepting cookies" in Preferences> Advanced> Cookies. The dialog displays the origin of the cookie and its attributes and allows you to choose whether to accept or reject it.
Force removal exiting Opera
Check the "force removal exiting Opera" to request that the cookie is removed when the session ends regardless of its expiration date.
Remember my choice for all cookies for this domain
To accept or reject all cookies set for the same domain, check the box "Remember my choice for all cookies for this domain". In this way, the next offer of a cookie to the same domain, the dialog box will not be shown.

Safari
To set the blocking of cookies
Block touches cookies and choose "Never", "Third-party advertisers and" or "Always". Cookies are information websites that are stored on the device to allow themselves to remember the you visit again and so that the web page can be customized based on the information obtained.
Important: some pages could work only if we accept the cookies.
To enable or disable JavaScript
Click Advanced, and enable or disable the corresponding option. JavaScript lets web programmers control elements of the page. For example, a page that uses JavaScript might display the current date and time, or open a link in a new pop-up window.
To remove information from the device
- To clear your history from Safari, tap Settings> Safari> Clear History.
- To clear all cookies from Safari, tap Settings> Safari> Clear Cookies and Data.
- To erase other stored information from Safari, tap Advanced> Information websites> Remove all website data.
Firefox
To check or change your settings:
- Click the menu and select Options.
- Select the Privacy panel.
- Under Settings history: select Use custom settings.
- To enable cookies, mark the entry Accept cookies from sites; unmark to disable the voice.
- If you are having problems with cookies, make sure also that the option Accept third party cookies is not set to Never.
- Choose how long cookies can be stored:
a) Keep until they expire: cookies will be removed when they reach the expiration date (the date set by the site that sent the cookie).
b) Keep them until you close Firefox: The cookies that are stored on your computer will be removed when Firefox closes.
c) Keep until ask me every time: Displays an alert every time a website tries to set a cookie and asks if you want this cookie is saved.
- Click OK to close the Options window.
Delete cookies for a specific site
1. Click the menu and select Options.
2. Select the Privacy panel.
3. Under Settings history: select Use custom settings.
4. Click the entry Show Cookies .... This opens the Cookie.
5. In the Search field, type the name of the site you want to remove cookies. A list showing the cookie relating to your search.
6. In the list, select the cookies to remove and click Remove Cookie.
7. To select all the cookies in the list, select the first cookie and press Shift + End.
8. Click the Close button to close the window Cookies.
9. Click OK to close the Options window.
Delete all cookies
1. Click on the menu button, select History and then Clear Recent History.
2. From the drop-down menu Time range to clear: select all.
3. Click the arrow next to Details to display the list of items to delete.
4. Select Cookies and make sure there are selected the other elements that you want to keep.
5. Click Clear Now to delete cookies, then close the window Delete Complete History.
Block cookies from a particular site
- Visit the site to which you want to inhibit the ability to set cookies.
- Click on the right by placing the mouse cursor in the page and select Page Info.
- In the Page Info window, select the Permissions panel.
- In line Set cookies, remove the mark from Use default. Select the Block.
- Close the Window page.
- Remove any cookies that the website has already set in Firefox.
View a list of blocked websites
- Click the menu and select Options.
- Select the Privacy panel.
- Under Settings history: select Use custom settings.
- Next to the entry Accept cookies from sites, click Exceptions.
Block cookies for all sites
- Click the menu and select Options.
- Select the Privacy panel.
- Under Settings chronology select Use custom settings.
- Remove the check mark from Accept cookies from sites.
- Click OK to close the Options window.
Disable third party cookies
The third-party cookies are cookies set by a website other than the one you are currently visiting. For example, the cnn.com website may contain within it a button "like" Facebook. That button will set a cookie that can be read by Facebook. This could be considered as a third-party cookies.
Some advertisers use these types of cookies to track user visits to all sites where they offer their services. If a user believes that this traceability can be a source of concern and of invasion of their privacy, in Firefox you can disable third-party cookies.
Note:
- Disabling third party cookies can prevent in some cases tracking by advertisers but not in all.
- Some Web sites (such as Microsoft's Hotmail, MSN and Windows Live Mail mailboxes) using third-party cookies for purposes that are not necessarily related to privacy and their deactivation may interfere with the proper functioning of those sites .
The settings of the third-party cookies are available in the Privacy panel of the Options window of Firefox:
- Click the menu and select Options.
- Select the Privacy panel.
- Under Settings history: select Use custom settings.
- Set the Accept third-party cookies to Never.
Note: whether sailing with this type of setting you realize that you cannot properly display some of your favorite web sites, an intermediate solution is to set the Accept third-party cookies on the sites visited. This setting allows you to accept third-party cookies from web you've previously visited.
